Magic of digital

The magic of digital is the way digital manages noise in comparison to analog. Analog functions in sound waves, meaning that the noise is apart of the sound waves and cannot be separated. Digital technology processes sound in binary code, consisting of 0s and 1s. The noise causes the binary code to be slightly off. For example, noise may make the signal appear to be .9, but the digital technology interrupts it as a 1. By doing this, the digital technology separates the noise from the sound, correcting these small fluctuations.

For example, when on an analog phone, you may hear static in the phone call. However, on a digital phone, you cannot hear the static. The static is still there,  however, the static is separated from the sound of the voices, so you will no longer hear it.
